The Quality Food Awards are the most prestigious awards for food and drink products on sale in UK grocery outlets, and a large part of this is due to the transparency and robustness of the judging process, rightly regarded as the most rigorous in the industry. The integrity of this process lies at the very heart of all that we do.
The judging panels are comprised of Chefs, Chef Lecturers, Home Economists, Food Photographers, Food Writers, Food Technologists and Regional Food Groups who all bring their extensive knowledge and expertise to the judging debate. The Quality Food Awards are unique in that they reward great tasting food products with the finest of flavours, textures and aromas. They reward nutritious products with the best ingredients’ lists and they recognise innovation, great packaging and presentation.
Packaging is an integral part of the success of a product and we are delighted to be working with Benson Group as our new headline sponsor this year. In addition to this new partnership, we are also introducing a new packaging award, in collaboration with our sister magazine, Packaging News. This award is intended to recognise the vitally important role that packaging plays in the success of a product, and more details can be found here.
The grocery retail landscape has continued to change in the last 12 months, and as always we aim to ensure the awards reflect our industry.
We have fine tuned the categories to ensure the awards remain relevant; free from products now sit within the main awards category, as befits their mainstream status. There are also new categories for both sauces and salad dressings and ambient grocery products so even more of the market is covered.
